Gadus achieves the Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship: a new milestone in our sustainability journey!

At Gadus, sustainable business is a conscious choice. We are therefore proud to have been awarded the Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship (VCDO). This recognition confirms our commitment to embedding sustainability throughout our organisation and continuing to build a future-proof business. The Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship encourages companies to take concrete actions that contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For Gadus, this meant a year filled with initiatives, analyses and improvement projects.

Building a strong foundation for sustainable business

To make sustainability an integral part of our organisation, we established a Sustainability Team. This multidisciplinary team brings together colleagues from different departments and ensures that sustainability is not limited to a single project, but is integrated into our daily operations and strategic decision-making. By combining knowledge and ideas across the organisation, we can develop initiatives that create a positive impact on people, the environment and our business.

Listening to our employees

Sustainability is not only about the environment; it is also about people. That is why we conducted an employee satisfaction survey. The results provide valuable insights into how our employees experience their work and where we can continue to grow as an employer. Based on this feedback, we can implement targeted actions to further enhance employee well-being, engagement and job satisfaction.

Managing water and energy responsibly

To reduce our environmental footprint, we also carried out a thorough assessment of our water and energy consumption. Through a water audit, we analysed where and how water is used within our organisation. Based on the findings, we identified concrete actions to improve water efficiency. In addition, we conducted an energy audit, which provided valuable insights into our main energy consumers and highlighted opportunities for further energy savings. This enables us to invest in measures that both reduce our environmental impact and improve our operational efficiency.

A clear roadmap towards lower CO₂ emissions

An important part of our sustainability journey was the development of a CO₂ reduction plan. This allowed us to map our emissions and define concrete actions to reduce them step by step. We also established our long-term sustainability objectives. With a clear vision for the years ahead, we aim to continuously reduce our climate impact and further integrate sustainability into every aspect of our business.

Sustainability is an ongoing journey

Achieving the Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship is a meaningful recognition of the efforts we have made over the past year. At the same time, it is not the finish line, but another step in our journey of continuous improvement. In the years ahead, we will continue investing in sustainable solutions, engaged employees and responsible business practices. Together, we are building a company that creates lasting value—not only for today, but also for tomorrow—for our customers, employees, partners and society. We have already enrolled in the next cycle of the Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship, reaffirming our commitment to continue strengthening our sustainability efforts.
